Growing up in a small village in Bihar, Mamta Mali, a television writer turned urban farmer, was used to a daily intake of raw, fresh, green vegetables in every meal. Pesticide free food was an integral part of her diet. However, after moving to Mumbai in 2011, her eating habits changed due to lack of nutrient rich food. It eventually led to her being diagnosed with Thyroid post pregnancy. This turn of events acted as a wake up call and forced her to actively look for fresh and better nutritious veggies, leading her to start her own venture in urban farming. She joined hands with her husband, Nitin Mali and started growing vegetables for their own needs initially. This led to a huge scale business that aims to serve people at large who are like-minded like her and want to better their eating habits. Together, the duo aims to help people manage various issues like thyroid, diabetes, etc with better food choices.
